Meeting- The Regular Business Meeting will begin approximately at 7:15 PM.  A tying demonstration will begin approximately at 6:15 PM by our guest speaker. He will demonstrate and tye caddis nymphs that are useful on the Housatonic River. After his presentation and then a brief business meeting we will have a raffle of several items. One being a book entitled “About Trout” by Dr. Robert Behnke. Please make an effort to support these speakers by attending the meeting.
Guest Speaker Bio: Adam Franceschinni, a year-round professional guide and head guide for Housatonic River Outfitters, will provide a presentation on fishing the Housatonic River.  He is a field tester for Orvis and has fished the American west, the Amazon, and in Alaska where he guides at Tickchik Narrows Lodge in the Bristol Bay area during summers. Adam began guiding on the famed rivers of western Montana, where he quickly learned how to navigate a drift boat on big water.  Since then, he has guided on the San Juan, where the well-known Baetis hatches helped him refine his sight nymphing skills, and the Amazon basin of Brazil, where he chased peacock bass on the fly. Over the past five years he has used his boat handling skills, as well as his excellent indicator nymphing techniques, to help him catch some of Alaska's massive leopard rainbow trout. In 2010, Adam was named Head Guide at Housatonic River Outfitters. Growing up just 15 miles from the Housatonic, Adam has fished much of the local waters. Guiding wading trips, drift boat trips, and instructing classes, Adam has made a home, once again guiding on the water he where learned to fish.

A-to-Z Streamer Clinic with HRO Head Guide Adam

Adam is our Housatonic River Outfitters Head Guide and a veteran Alaskan guide (still guides there every Summer), and has guided also in Brazil & out West. He has fished extensively in many different places, and is rapidly becoming a Great Lakes Steelhead addict. Adam is the real deal, a local guy who eats, sleeps & breathes fishing and guiding. Come Join Adam On Saturday March 16th for a 5-6 hour clinic covering the A- Z of streamer fishing. Part of the clinic will be an indoor power point covering flies, holding lies and leader construction for both large rivers and small streams. And the second half of the clinic will be streamside where Adam will cover stream approach, body positioning, casting and fishing techniques. Normally this time of year we see challenging fishing conditions for many- cold & often high water, but you will walk away from this clinic with the knowledge and confidence to catch fish on streamers in various condition on any river, big or small. He will show you some of his specialized methods, leaders, riggings & flies that he uses to consistently get his clients into fish. Learn how to read the water and adapt to the conditions. Benefit from his years of experience, he truly is a student of the sport and loves to teach it to others. Clinic cost will be $75, paid in advance, non-refundable, rain or shine. Call the store at 860-672-1010 to book a spot.
